October hype

Hey. Happy Halloween 1st! October is here and you might be wondering why I’m so hyped about october. Here is why october is best month of them all.

Mosquitos are gone. No more annoying late night buzz – it’s the blessed time where all of the insects die.

Sweater weather. Fall fashion is my favourite kind. Cozy sweaters, cute cardigans, img_9194huge warm scarfs, hats and  stylish boots – what can look better?

Pumpkin spice everything – smells like autumn tastes like autumn.

Apples and cinnamon – When I think about cinnamon I always picture late autumn evening watching tv shows wrapped in a blanket holding apple cinnamon tea. Most img_9080peaceful feeling of all.

This photo was taken last week when me and my roommate Domc (books) were harvesting apples for our home-made caramel apples and apple cinnamon chips.

Fiery combination of red, orange and yellow harmony, smell of crunching leaves underneath your feet. I’m a sucker for autumn aesthetic.

Last year me and Domc went to Prague for short trip to Zizkov tower and old Zizkov cemetery. Little did we know that one year from that moment we would be living together in Prague.

Cemeteries are also huge part of October for me. I don’t know if it’s the Halloween spirit, color vibes or upcoming christian All Saint’s day but I spend way too much on cemetery in october.

Halloween month – It’s strange how hyped I am about Halloween even when my country doesn’t celebrate this holiday at all. But considering I grew up in america I have only fond memories of trick or treating in my Snow White costume. Later on trick or treating turned into Halloween parties – not big fan of parties in general but what I love about this ones is the costumes, the freedom of creativity, (suck that most of the costumes are simply bought and slutty) make up arts that blows my mind and inspire me in my own Halloween make up creations every year. Here are my creations for last 2 years.

I had my 2018 Halloween make up figured out last year already so I’m supper excited for its realization. Don’t worry I’m gonna share it with you when the time comes.

Halloween specials of almost every tv shows – might be cheesy and corny but I still like it, it’s a classic just like a christmas movies that never grew old I can’t imagine Halloween without Tim Burton’s The Nightmare before Christmas even thought I saw it millions of times and know it by heart.

Halloween spirit – spooky , scary, creepy – what’s so appealing about it for me is the controlled fear. As someone who is suffering from panic disorder it’s kind of freeing to be scared without my sympathetic nervous system  being too involved, to have limited fear, to know when I’ll be scared, what’s so scary, to recognise the cause of my fear = scary clown, ghost, murderers or whatever instead of crippling anxiety and fearing ?? something ?? and ?? everything ?? but ?? nothing ?? in ?? particular ??

Yes october has its negatives as rain, cold, wind and storms but I’ve always enjoyed cold weather more (from comfort of my blanket of course)

My plans for this october is to explore autumn colors of Prague, drink as much Starbucks pumpkin spice late as my bank account allows me to, draw, finally finish my Godess Marilyn Monroe book,  purchase LUSH Halloween special edition bath bomb, check out last season of American horror story (even thought it’s getting so bad lately unfortunately it’s still huge inseparable autumn custom for me) and create many many many creepy Halloween make up looks.

Let me know in the comments what’s your stand on october.

Thank you for your attention

  1. What fun! And yes, draw, draw, draw. I have found myself getting in to the October- cool weather spirit as well. Something I look forward to is being able to sleep with the windows open again. Also finding myself gravitating to writing a little bit about moons.
